Recipe :

Ingredients:

1.5 pound (700 g.) ground beef

3 slices of bread, crust removed

3 tbsp. milk

1 garlic clove, grated

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tsp mild paprika

1 tsp dry thyme

3 carrots, sliced or cut in sticks

4 large Cremini mushrooms, sliced

1 onion, chopped

1 cup white wine

7 oz. (200 g.) tomato pulp

Some olive oil for cooking

Instructions:

Into a medium bowl, shred the crustless bread, drizzle the milk, crush into a paste with a fork, add the egg, grated garlic clove, salt, pepper, paprika and thyme, mix, add the ground beef, mix thoroughly, you may cook 1 or 2 tbsp. of mixture in your microwave, taste and adjust seasoning. Form meatballs with about 2 tbsp. of mixture

Into a high sided pan or Dutch oven, heat some olive oil on medium/high heat, arrange the meatballs, distribute onion, carrots and mushrooms, add the white wine, cover with a lid, bring to boil, then reduce the heat to medium/low, add the tomato pulp, season to taste

Simmer for about an hour, stirring and turning the meatballs over from time to time

If the sauce reduces too much, add water as needed

Serve with rice, noodles or mashed potatoes and a green of your choice

Enjoy!
