Healthy granola recipe, this healthy multi grain granola regulates the transit, it is full of vitamins and minerals and oh so delicious!
The basis of this granola is oats, linseeds and chia seeds, you can vary the other ingredients which for this recipe were rice krispies (Kellogg’s®) for some crisp and a few pecans (sometimes I make it with pistachios, yum), some coconut flakes.
I like to eat about 3 spoonfuls mixed into a bifidus yogurt and a little milk, a few raisins, and some of the fresh fruits I have on hand.
As for the spices, you can add cloves, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, vanilla, etc. Personally, I only like cinnamon.
3 cups (270 g.) old fashioned oats
1/2 cup (60 g.) linseeds
1/4 cup (40 g.) chia seeds
1 cup (30 g.) Rice Krispies (Kellogg’s®)
1 cup (30 g.) coconut flakes
1/2 cup (30 g.) pecans, roughly chopped
1 tsp cinnamon
Zest of 1 orange
4 tbsp. (55 g.) unsalted butter
1 cup maple syrup or corn syrup, honey, stevia, etc.
Preheat your oven to 320°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Into a small saucepan or into microwave oven, melt the butter, then add maple syrup and stir to combine
Into a large bowl, add all the ingredients and spices, stir well
Pour the maple syrup onto the cereals, stir with a spatula to combine, stir with a spatula until all the ingredients are moist
Spread the granola evenly on the baking sheet
Into the oven for 30 to 35 minutes (I like mine crisp, so 35 minutes for me)
Stir every now and then to avoid clumps
This granola will keep a few weeks stored in an airtight container at room temperature
