Apart that my coleslaw is homemade, nothing original in my recipe I am afraid, the authentic recipe is so perfect, what more is there to add? A pinch of cinnamon? NO NO NO…
1/2 green cabbage
6 carrots
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk (or 1/4 cup milk + 1/4 cup buttermilk)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1 1/2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste
Clean and core the cabbage, clean and peel carrots
In the bowl of your food processor, shred the cabbage and grate the carrots
Put into a large salad bowl, set aside
In the bowl of your food processor, add all the ingredients for the dressing, mix until everything is well combined, the dressing will be very thin
Taste and adjust the seasoning, I like mine well peppered
Pour onto the cabbage and carrots, stir well
I like to make my coleslaw well ahead so that all the ingredients can blend.
Store the coleslaw in your fridge, it will still be very good on the following day
